Popular Cuisine

[Non-Halal]

I went to this shop, Popular Cuisine in Towering Industrial Centre, few times over the course of several years, but the last time was 2 years ago. I have stopped visiting this shop because their food standards dropped.

However, recently Hub’s friend commented that their food improved. So we decided to give it another try. And I was pleasantly surprised.

They are famous for their homemade noodles, cooked and tossed in their secret sauce (Kon Lau Mien). I have to say, their noodles were cooked al dente, tossed in a sweet and salty dark sauce, topped with a choice of BBQ Pork (Char Sau), Crispy Roasted Pork (Sau Nyuk), Egg and Pork Roll (Chun Gien) and Roasted Chicken (Sau Kai). My favourite being their BBQ Pork. It was tender, juicy and sweet with a hint of smokiness. However, the Crispy Roasted Pork was too hard and over cooked, a disappointment.

Overall, I was pleased and would visit this shop again soon. Hopefully they can maintain their food standards.

See you in my next post! Toodles!
